Save Water

Waste for Food and Energy - 2023

"Growing your own food is like printing your own money."

A programme that was mooted 5 years back in our government school..

Our village school kids collect and separate plastics at source. It’s a one hour session in the morning on waste management…

Every month all the plastics are sold to recycling and that money is used to buy native seeds.

A seed sovereignty company called HOOGA run by Sowmya came on board to assist our kids in sowing native seeds that’s conserved in their seed bank.

Today all the 4th and 5th standard school kids joined to sow native seeds in our farm solaivanam.

Water is pumped by solar for our recharged water table.

So this programme of sustaining, from waste to growing your own vegetables is taught in our school, out side the academics. Water is used sustainably using solar power…

most radical of acts. It is truly the only effective protest, one that can - and will - overturn the corporate powers that be. By the process of directly working in harmony with nature, we do the one thing most essential to change the world - we change ourselves…
