Today we celebrated the traditional Patti Pongal along with our Village school kids, to thank and pray for well-being of cattles. That has helped in our sowing of Thuyamalli.
In our farm we dug Pits known as theppa kolams its rectangular in shape, layered and readied to hold water. The pond is filled with water and coins are dropped into it.
Seven white stones representing the Kannimaar, the seven goddesses of the Hindu pantheon, arepositioned in the head of the pond.
Our school young girl Child lit the fire for making pongal.
But the most important offering is in honour of Pattiyavidaithaai, the goddess of the patti.
Finally the cow and it’s calf is brought into the patti after crossing the pond and made to take down all the festoons.
5 banana leaves are placed to “Suriyan” and offered to sun god. We are blessed abundantly.
We thanked and felicitated who all have been instrumental for this “Organic Paddy growing” Thuyamalli.
We whole heartedly thank
Kind regards
